About Draw Dick

A movie, my brother, and a domain name

The idea

When Superbad first came out, I watched it with my brother and ended up buying DrawDick.com. Some people leave a movie quoting their favorite lines. I left with a website project.

The Silverlight days

The original version was built in Silverlight. Keeping it running alongside my normal job eventually became too much to manage, so I put it on hold.

Back with AI

Years later, AI has helped me bring the site back. The technology has changed quite a bit since that first version. The domain name still pretty much explains the idea.

So that’s how DrawDick.com happened. Now it’s your turn to draw something ridiculous.

DrawDick.com is an independent project and is not affiliated with Superbad or its creators.

What is Draw Dick?

Draw Dick is a free website where adults draw cartoon dicks in the browser, submit them for review, and rate everyone else’s. It lives at drawdick.com.

It is a site for daft cartoon drawings, and that is the only thing it is for.

How does it work?

Draw on the home page with pens, an eraser, shapes, spray paint, symmetry, layers and emoji stamps, on a blank canvas or on a photo. You can download what you draw, with a drawdick.com watermark, without an account.

With an account you can save a drawing and submit it. An admin reviews every drawing before anyone else sees it, and only then is it published, with its own page you can share as a link or a QR code.

Published drawings are rated on the Rate page, from 1 (Bobbitt) to 10 (King Dong). The Hall of Fame shows the ten best-rated.

Do I need an account?

Not to draw, download or look. Saving, submitting, rating and reporting need an account with a confirmed email address.

Who can use it?

Adults only. You must be 18 or older, and you confirm that you are on your first visit, with the 18+ click-through, and again when you make an account.

How is it moderated?

Everything is reviewed before it is published: a submitted drawing stays private until an admin approves it, and one that is rejected never appears.

Every published drawing has a report button. When three different people report the same drawing, it is hidden automatically, before an admin has looked. Admins can take a drawing down, and ban an account, at any time.

The content policy says what is not allowed: anything involving anyone under 18, real or recognisable people, harassment, hate, personal information, explicit photos, anything illegal, and spam.

Can it finish my drawing for me?

Yes, if you start it. In the editor, Finish it has DrawDick’s own doodle model draw the rest from your lines, in your pen, as ordinary strokes you can keep, redraw or undo. It is a small model DrawDick trained on public doodles, run on your device, and it is better at some starts than others: two balls, or a shaft, work best.

Can I draw on a photo?

Yes, as long as there are no recognisable people in it, with their consent or without, and nothing explicit. A photo you draw on is reviewed and published with the drawing. It is shrunk, and stripped of its location and camera details, on your device before it goes anywhere.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Draw Dick works in the browser, on a phone as well as a computer, so there is no app to install.

Can it start a drawing for me?

Yes. Surprise me, in the editor’s menu, has a small drawing model draw a fresh doodle on the page to start from, as ordinary lines you can change, rub out or draw over; Another draws another. Or build a cartoon to start from with sliders, in the Cartoon Starter.

The model was trained by DrawDick on public doodles: the Quickdraw appendix by Moniker, used under CC BY 4.0 (credited below).

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. The Challenge a friend button shares a link, or copies it, with a daft prompt for your friend to draw. The link opens the editor with that prompt.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Drawing, rating and the site’s own font, DrawDick.com Font, are all free.

Who runs it?

Draw Dick is made and run by Opulent Studios.

How do I get something removed, or get in touch?

Report the drawing with its report button, or write to abuse@drawdick.com, which is also the address to use if you have no account or something is urgent.

You can delete your own account from your profile page, or ask us to at abuse@drawdick.com. Your drawings and ratings go with it.
